As the Gambia Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children, we have been at the forefront of advocacy, education, and community engagement in the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and the promotion of sexual and reproductive health rights.

These photographs capture the essence of our multifaceted work – from community sensitization sessions and training workshops for chiefs, women leaders, and youth, to capacity-building programs for community-based facilitators and former circumcisers. Each image tells a story of transformation, resilience, and hope as we work alongside communities, partners, and stakeholders to create lasting change. Through collaborative efforts with organizations like UNFPA, Child Fund, SCI, CFLI, UNICEF, and many other donors, GAMCOTRAP continues to bridge the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that every woman and girl in The Gambia can live free from harmful traditional practices while embracing their fundamental human rights.
